bigg’s struggled with conflicting perceptions: they were cut-rate, low-quality stores, and a visit to bigg’s wasn’t actually any cheaper than buying from market leaders.
We created two campaigns, one dramatizing the limitations—and therefore expense—of loyalty cards at competing stores, and another showing the pleasant shopping experience at bigg’s.
Art director Steve Ziegelmeyer co-invented these with me. Marty Driscoll of Sandlot Pictures, one of our favorites (and with good reason), produced and edited both. Sonic Images (now but a memory) mixed sound flawlessly.
